Spec piece: River of Qi, Mei, her business, opt-in and course details are invented for this portfolio. Strategic note: A 6-email arc moving a guide-downloader from "still just curious" to "ready to enroll". Email 1 + 2 focus on value, empathy, and building trust. A first soft pitch is introduced in email 3 for readers already eager to learn more, with the primary pitch landing in email 4, 5 & 6 once the reader is properly ‘warmed up’. Written for health-conscious individuals looking for holistic solutions to chronic digestive issues. The tone balances empathetic validation of their physical struggles with the authoritative, ancient wisdom of TCM. The tone is wam, welcoming, trust building. This sequence bridges the gap between a free opt-in guide book and a high-commitment 4-month course.

Hi there,
Thank you for downloading ‘The Chinese Medicine Approach to Digestion’. I hope it gives you an interesting read, new insights, and a few hands-on, usable tools right away.
I'm Mei, Doctor of Chinese Medicine, and the creator of River of Qi, my ‘Healing Sanctum’. If you’ve downloaded this Guide Book, it’s probably because you’ve been on a journey of trying to find solutions to a host of perplexing digestive issues that have been part of your life for a while. Whether you’re dealing with irregular bowel movements, sluggish digestion, low energy, heartburn, or a foggy, uncooperative brain, I’m here to tell you — you don’t have to live this way!
There are answers to your troubles, even if your experience has been one of feeling dismissed and unheard by conventional healthcare. There is a different approach to full-body health, and the Guide Book gives you the core principles to help you understand your body, and your symptoms, in a whole new way.
In Chinese medicine, digestion is tied to your whole system. Your energy, your emotions, the way stress moves (or doesn't move) through your body. Over the next few emails, I'll share more about that connection and a few simple things you can start noticing this week.
For now, dive into your Guide. I think you'll find at least one thing in there that surprises you.
With warmth and good Qi, Mei
Hi again,
I hope you’ve found some helpful insights and a-ha moments in ‘The Chinese Medicine Approach to Digestion’.
One of the most common things I hear from new clients: "I've tried everything: more fiber, cutting dairy, probiotics, and nothing really sticks." It’s frustrating, to say the least! I know — because I’ve been there. It’s the reason I started practicing Chinese Medicine in the first place, and why I feel so passionate about empowering others to reclaim the key to their health, why I love teaching people how to ‘listen’ to what their body is trying to communicate.
In Chinese medicine, digestion is governed by your Spleen and Stomach Qi. Think of it as your body's engine for transforming food into usable energy. When that engine runs low — whether from stress, poor sleep, poor diet, or years of pushing through — food alone can't fix it, because the root issue isn't just what you're eating. It's how well your body can process it and move through it, in every sense.
That "moving through" part matters more than most people realize. Digestive trouble is often tangled up with stuck emotion, especially in the Liver, which in Chinese medicine governs the smooth flow of Qi throughout the body. Frustration, resentment, everything you've swallowed and never fully processed, can settle in and block that flow. When Qi gets stuck, digestion tends to get disrupted right along with it.
This is why symptoms often show up in patterns that don't get connected elsewhere. Bloating and fatigue. Constipation that swings into diarrhea and back again. Reflux that flares along with stress. Cramping that comes and goes…
